TYGERBURGER – 12/01/2011
Some of the VOICES FOR CHRIST members were privileged to be able to give something back to the community. Veronica van Dieman (from her own pension), and Louise Spies from Living Network, provide something to eat to these children once a week. Shoe boxes with little gifts were made up and given out at this event and some snacks were also available for a Christmas treat. It was wonderful to see the absolute joy and appreciation from these poverty stricken children.

Voices for Christ is a local all women's Gospel group that recently launched their debut album Above All at the Table Bay Hotel in the V&A Waterfront, Cape Town. Tamsyn Lombardo from Today Magazine attended this event along with invited church leaders from all denominations, business leaders and special guests.
The six women in the group are talented vocalists with a wide range of musical ability - rendering solos, duets, quartets and group items to songs done in an a capella style or accompanied by background music. Both Afrikaans and English classics were delivered flawlessly, much to the audience's delight.
However, it was definitely the mission of the group that oozed out of their songs -'To proclaim to all people, denominations, churches and organisations, the everlasting Gospel of Jesus Christ through praise and ministry in spiritual song as instructed in Ephesians 5:19, 'Speak to one another with psalms, hymns and spiritual songs. Sing and make music in your heart to the Lord' and Psalm 95:2, 'Let us come before Him with thanksgiving and extol Him with music and song'." The night was a reminder of the powerful presence of God through song.
